Training in Epilepsy Awareness
The charity has a wide variety of resources to enable our experienced volunteer trainers to devise and deliver interesting programmes of awareness training to differing audiences of participants. Each of those attending will be provided with a summary of the talks to give future reminders of the important aspects of the training delivered.
We have delivered these programmes for several years and the feedback forms indicate a high level of satisfaction from those taking part.. From information provided to us we can tailor the training to the needs of the school, club, care home, or residence. We can provide suitable material for most audiences based on many years experience.
Whilst we are able to include most aspects of essential knowledge of care of those with epilepsy we do not include practical demonstrations of rescue medication since it is better that this is given by medically qualified nurses or doctors. Since rectally delivered medication is being phased out we can provide demonstration DVDs and if you wish introduce you to the local Epilepsy Nurse Specialists who provide "Train the Trainer courses" in buccal midazolam treatment.
We are happy to provide training throughout East Kent and ask only that the cost of our travel and production of course material at £10 per participant is reimbursed. As a charity, however, we are grateful for further donations to assist with our core costs.
